I live in the DC /. Metro Area (arlington VA) I bought my 02 F4i with 10k miles.. 4 months ago.. for 4500$ not a good or bad deal. Since then I've ran it up to 16k miles.. Only thing I've done is replaced the tires and done 2 oil changes and still runs perfect

Which city are you looking for? I'm in the Norther Virginia area (Arlington). I was looking earlier for a way to search across multiple cities but didn't see it. For the Washington DC area, I see about 7 or so 01 and 02 bikes and one 06. I was leaning towards something newer, although a 02 with < 9k miles may be better than an 06 with 11k.

I've looked at the RRs and don't think I want to go that route. I will probably still take extended weekend trips frequently, just not 2-3 week trips (which is why my current ST1100 isn't fitting me). I've read that the F4i is more practical/comfortable every day bike. I'm willing to give up any difference in performance. Then again, I've never actually rode an F4i and only spent an afternoon on my buddies RR.

sorry guys buti don,t no if there different in the states but the 2001 f4i and the 2002 f4i are different in that as well as the seats and swingarm(black) 2002, also the valves and stiffer springs on the 2002 and also different cams i think on 2002 to make it more sportier.

greetings from across the pond but there is a camshaft, valve springs and timing difference on the 2001 f4i and the 2002 f4i as well as the seat changes and different colour swingarm.

Have another question about the F4i... is it geared similar to the RR? What RPM are you running in 6th at say 70 mph - in other words if I'm going to be doing some trips am I going to get lots of vibration on those unavoidable highway sections? Not completely convinced I want to give up my ST1100 for those longer trips. If only I could have 2 bikes...

Also, I'm 6'2", any other tall riders out there on the F4i?

I really need to get on an F4i rather than trying to relate everything to my half day ride on my buddies RR.

I'm 6'2 and the bike fits me pretty well. I can flat foot it easily and the ergonomics seems to be in the right place.
