Looking to buy 2001 F4i

Hello all,

I am currently looking at a 2001 CBR F4I with 6500 miles on it. I am very excited about the low mileage but i am worried about the fact that the "rear lighting kit for the tail light eliminator" took a crap on him. From what I can tell this is the wiring harness for a turn signal integrator kit. ( I hope you all know what I am trying to say). Is this a problem that many people have? Do you think it was just a short or could a larger problem cause this to happen? Anyways, I am going to look at the bike this week but I wanted to know what I should be looking for.

I tried to run the search but for some reason the search page will not load for me right now. Does anyone have a routine they go through to make sure a bike is as good as it could be? Any tips would be great !

Thank you in advance for the help. I am sure any suggestions from you all will be great and helpful...

meangene !

I would...

i would probably do it, as long as it looks good and there is nothing else wrong with it. and of course as long as the price meet your needs and wants. There is a ton of subjects on how to wire that thing properly. it should be pretty easy just SEARCH for it on this forum. but other than that make sure it is what you want for the price.
STAY SAFE
Rubber side down.

how much are you paying for it?

meangene21 09-08-2009 02:21 PM

He is asking $3300 for it..

That's about right for the miles. give or take depending on the problems

I had the same problem when I bought my bike. I checked it out during the day so I didn't notice the light was off. I brought it to a shop and they said it's because some wire was loose and they soldered something together. Or something like that. Don't really remember the specifics, but it cost me 40 bucks...

Yeah dude the rear lighting is a very simple circuit... just a few wires. Just use it as a reason to bargain for a lower price and then get it fixed for 40 bucks like f4ith did. Good luck 3g's for an f4i with low miles sounds like a steal to me.

thats a good deal for only 6500 miles.

It's ok but if you can talk him/her down to $3K then take it.
