Default long starting

my 02 f4i doesnt like to start if its been sitting, say a day or two. it eventully does start andafterwards it fires right up or if i ride frequently no problems starting. what could be the causes? things that come to my mind would be fuel filter and spark plugs...

thank you!

Weird. That definitely shouldn't happen after just sitting a day or two. I wouldn't know what it is, though. I don't know the workings of a motor.

Does the starter sound like its turning slowly? If so look at the starter and the battery.

I have a similar problem with my bike. One day it didn't start at all after a bunch of tries. I took it to my mechanic and with his magic touch, got it working. All he did was hold the starter down and wiggle the throttle and at the exact right time open it all the way. He said that fuel must have gotten into the valves or something and needed to be burned out. I still have the slow start problem though sometimes, so that might have something to do with it.
