LoJack Early Warning Malfunctioning

Sup guys! I made this thread out of concern and also to know of anybody having similar issues with their LoJack Early Warning. I know not everybody has LoJack EW on their bikes but this is for those who do. I got LoJack EW when i got the bike cuz i thought for an extra 800 its a well worth investment especially here in South Florida where bikes are stolen daily. I've recently noticed that on SoFlaSportbikes.com on the stolen bikes room there's been an increase in the amount of bikes reported stolen.

I tend not to worry cuz i know i have LoJack EW which is proven effective. But recently I left my key fob at home (on purpose), rode w/o it and i didn't receive a call from LoJack like i remember receiving before when i would forget to carry the thing with me. So i called them up and told them about this and they said my batteries good on the key fob so it has to be the device on the bike, all they said was to bring it in to the dealership where i bought the bike 2 years ago, asked them if there would be a charge and they said yes. Well i havent brought it into the dealership yet, and i know its not going to be cheap. But i just want to know, have any of you come across this problem with your LoJack?

Nope. Mine is fine, but then again I've only had it for a year.

I think you should check the keypass batteries again. This is from the FAQ on their website :

What kind of maintenance is recommended for the LoJack Early Warning key pass?

To ensure optimum performance, the batteries in the Early Warning Key Passes should be changed every 6 months to 1 year depending on the model. To avoid damage, the automobile key pass should not be exposed to water or dropped. However, the motorcycle key pass is designed for harsh environments and can withstand wet weather conditions.

Let me know what happens. You also have a 2 yr warranty. Are you over that?

well i bought the bike may 17 of 2008 and got the lojack installed that same day so am over by like 2 freakin wks.

I did change the battery on the key pass.

On my day off work am gonna take it to the stealership and see what they say.

haha. let me know how that goes.

I am pretty sure it won't be thaaat bad though. I think I remember asking my dealer when they installed mine a year ago about service. I believe he said something around $50.

good luck.
