Talking A little spring time elbow grease

So the bike needs new chain and sprockets and has that lovely cct rattle so those have to be fixed but at the same time i decided if i am going to this i may as well do other things to... so my total list is:

Manual CCTL
520 conversion -1,+2
Power Commander III
Vortex Clip ons
Frame Sliders
CRG Shorty levers
Speedohealer
K&N Air filter
Replace lower v fairing
New fairing and engine bolts

So my new question now is should i do anything else why i have the bike in pieces? Willing to all opinions. Possibly want new mirrors and eventually a new rear set. Maybe powder coat the wheels? 929 calipers? I dont really know so any input would be appreciated and just wanted to thank everyone on the forum for teaching me how to do this and giving me the courage to attempt it!

well the good news is that everything on your list is not hard to do. i would like to do everything on that list(except the K&N i already got it), they are all big improvements and will make the bike nicer. Money is my limiting factor

Hey anyone know about clutches as when they should be replaced and what kind to get? Should you only replace them if they are starting to slip or should you do it because you learned to ride on the bike and may have destroyed it? Thanks

You should overhaul and change the calipers seals. Easy and worth it.

As far as the clutch, I still have my oem one but it seems the general consensus is getting new oem plates. Some other brands out there but oem is the way to go, from what I hear.

Don't forget to show her off when you're done!

Ya thougt about a caliper overhaul but didn't know if I should do that or go to the 929 calipers. I heard they were the same 4 piston but hey are better but I don't know why. Also with clutches what's the difference between oem and kevlar and is one better? And pics will def come. There are a lot of how to of this stuff so idk if it's worth showing that but ill take the pictures if anyone would like to see one

If you send your calipers to get powdercoated by a good provider like I did, they'll clean up all the seals and stuff since they have to take it apart for the powdercoat process. I was really happy with how mine turned out. PM me if you want more info.

Unless you're looking for amazing brake performance, stainless steel lines and nice pads will be more the sufficient for street riding.
