Default A little introduction

hey guys, i am a proud owner of a 03 f4i ! Bought off a neighbor who couln't ride it any more because of a work related injury a few years back and need money. She was sitting in his garage for 3 years, only 6000 miles, and needed some TLC.

After a new battery and FPR, it fired right up like it never sat! She had no upgrades and I am slowly adding my style too her.

He gave me brand new Mich Power's. I flushed the coolant and added engine ice. I plan on upgrading the brakes and lines soon. I did find a rust in the fuel tank because he stored it without a full tank, but nothing a little elbow grease couldn't fix.

This is a great forum, lots of info, passion and knowledge and it has help me better understand my f4i. I am not new to bikes, but new to sports bikes. I know i will have a TON of questions and i know everyone can answer them.

Ill post pics when i get a chance.

so i pulled the tank off today and decided to spend the money to have it cleaned and sealed

The fuel pump works, but it does not look so hot. There is rust all over it and the rubber lines on it are cracked, so time for a new one

My question is the f4i fuel pump universal with all the years models? Or do i have to get one just for an 03 model?

yeah you should be concerned about the rust in the fuel tank since that would be indicative of a lining problem, not just from being stored with gas in it. Glad you got that taken care of. A fuel pump from any f4i will work so anything from 01-06 will fit just fine.
