Default Light clicking/ticking noise

So I'm getting a quiet clicking/ticking noise at idle and up to about 3500 RPM (or at least that's where I can't hear it anymore). It doesn't seem to do it when the bike is cold, but starts as soon as the bike is warmed up. CCTL or Valves?

The bike has 17k miles so it's overdue for a valve adjustment, but I don't want to pay for that and find out it was the CCTL. Anyone able to call it either way for me?

Is there only one CCTL on the F4i? I found out the previous owner put a new CCTL in less than a month ago.

There's only 1 CCTL. If he put in an Ape Manual CCTL, it's possible the bolt has backed out some and needs to be readjusted.

As for the valves, it may not need actual adjustment. But getting them checked isn't necessarily a waste of money. Caught early, valves out of spec can mean the difference between searching ebay for an engine at 50k miles or...

I just checked it out, it was an OEM replacement tensioner. But it was put in less than 1000 miles ago. I take it that's not the source of my noise then?

Ok so If it only makes the noise once the bike has warmed up some, would it be the CCT-L? Or is it still possible it's the valves?

If it was the CCTL then you should still be hearing it while riding.
