That is exactly what I thought, I figured these bikes were suppose to run rich. When I first posed the question, I was also wondering how common this is. I have only had this bike for a few months now, and my old bike never really backfired, but then again it wasn't a SS either. Thanks

I've never had a flame or backfire come from my exhaust (I've run three different aftermarket pipes).

If your bike has been sitting for awhile, like over the winter and you start it up and rap the exhaust hard, almost a majority of bikes will backfire.

I ride my bike everyday.... still backfires everday not too big of a conern but i think i am going to lean out the mixure when i get a wideband in

Couldn't tell you, I purchased my bike used already with an aftermarket pipe.
