license plate flip

so the previous owner cut most of the fender and covred the key whole for the back seat with the license plate so for the past 6 months I would either not put anything in it or take one of the screws out which is much annoying.

finally had some free time from grad school to buy some hinges. I liked this option a lot better than going the easy route of just moving the plate lower. I really like wen the plate is right under the tail light

Nothin spectacular but i thought i'd share

what keeps the plate from falling back down?

DBEAU 08-27-2009 08:03 PM

Are those hinges spring loaded? If not, does the plate flap around while riding?

its not spring loaded, but there is a decent amount of resistance while flipping the hinge so that it doesn't move...at least while moving at 40....haven't tried it at highway speeds..that might be a diferent story and I mighthave to change them out for something stronger

If you have problems at high way speeds of it flapping i would suggest a huge strip of industrial strength Velcro.. That way it wont lift on ya.
