The price is a bit high for the mileage and time of year, but for Chicago it isn't terrible. As long as it's in good condition and you're happy, it doesn't matter.

whats going on everyone. im new here and to the motorcycle scene and just wanted to introduce myself. from chicago, i just bought a bike on the 13th. i have a 2002 cbr 600 f4i with 28000 miles. i bought it for about $4k from a dealership, it has a slip on and a power commander. although, i wanted some opinions on the purchase as far as miles, condition, etc. the bike looks great but for some reason im a bit skeptical because its my first bike. holla. sorry for rambling.

Bike looks great (from the pictures anyway) and looks as though it was taken care of. As far as miles... it's an '02 and if you consider it to have been purchased in '02 than that averages out to roughly 3500 miles per year. That's not too bad, especially if it was someone's commuter bike for work or they did some decent riding on the weekends... than really, the mileage is pretty spot on. As long as the fluids were changed - I wouldn't worry about it. As far as price goes... yeah, you maybe could have paid less (actually for sure), but you saying the bike is in great condition then you didn't necessarily get ripped off. If you're happy with it that's what matters.

Have fun with it and stay safe.
Barry

thanks aken and berry for the responses. i do have one question thats been killing me because i cant find the part and barely know how to explain it. below your ignition is the fork. there are two adjusting mechanisms above each tube, however there is a bolt in the middle. now ive seen some bikes with a plastic cover over it and i want it because my bike didnt come with one. help!!!
