Just got mine a year ago Thanksgiving with 17k on the clock, I have 20k now. Been
putting it off till all of the priority items were dealt with. It's on my snowy weather
down-time list, for this season. I've had the shim kit sitting on my bench for about
6 months now. I'll let you know, in about a month, whether I needed to do any adjustments.

Haven't checked mine yet, but I've just turned 16k. I think most of the bikes can go at least 20k before they get out of spec, but I'm definitely interested in hearing how long guys have gone and how much out they were.

Everyone checks valve clearence. They just do it at different times. And yes they won't be correct eventually.

I'm afraid to check mine. My buddy got the bike originally with 16k or 18k miles on it. I got it from him at 43k. As far as I know, he never had them checked, although he did have a mechanic buddy that did his oil changes and chains and whatnot. Might have been checked when it was lowsided and they had to replace the engine cover, but he didn't think they were ever checked.

I'm at 50k now, but it's hard to hear any valve noise over the yosh pipe and the CCTL noise. I'll probably tear into it after the first of the year and see what they look like.

Had mine done by the shop at around 17K (I believe), intake side was in spec, exhaust side was not.
