Default Left signal popping fuse

I have a 2002 F4i that is stock.

When I use my left turn signal it blows the fuse, however right turn signal and horn do not. Oddly enough when the fuse is blown my brake light doesn't work either, I didn't think it was a fused circuit.

I've traced wires and they seem good
I've swapped the right and left side and the problem is still the same
Replaced stock stems with flushmounts and no change

I'm not sure what to do next either bit the bullet and take it in or start replacing parts.

Suggestions?

Thanks.

Sounds like a short in the switch itself. Disassemble switch housing on the bar and look for a cooked connection or evidence of arching.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that.
