they are all awkward to change no matter what you do... who you order from... factory or aftermarket....
what i wouldn't like about them is they use capped screws instead of factory...
that has a little concern. atleast with factory bolts you can washer if needed

I make them so I'll put out a bit of information about what I did.
I use the socket head cap screws to keep the locking nut open for a wrench. The countersink will both align the tensioner after the bolts are started, provide more surface for grip (the angled surface is 1.4 times the length of a flat surface of a similar flange screw). That was what I wanted on my own tensioners since the first two went on my own bikes. I started making them because I had numerous Kawasaki riders ask for them, then was contacted by Superhawk riders. It just kind of took off.
If the fasteners are tightened properly, about 72 in/lb based on torque spec for the grade of fastener, they will not come loose. I'm using two of them on my own bikes and never had a bolt come loose yet. I'm not sure why any washer would be needed, but I guess that's a personal choice. If I was remotely concerned I'd use blue hand tool LocTite.
That little snout machined on the APE is part of the $20 extra cost - machining cost. I designed a less costly part that serves the same funtion with more than adequate strength for the part requirement and passed the savings on. It is still only $30 plus the shipping including the gasket, has been the same price since 2009 and shipping is actual cost on direct sales. Ebay sales have a bit added to shipping for ebay's fees. I wish everyone who wanted them would contact me directly, save a few more bucks.
Just figured I'd let you know the why and wherefor. Just trying to make a quality part that about any rider can easily afford to keep their bike running. Thanks for those who do pick them up, keeps it going.
