K&n air filter?
 

Hey there I'm still fairly new to motorcycles and think I'm due for a new air filter on my f4i. Just wondering what the advantages of spending way more money on k&n filter vs. The cheap OEM? any info would be great! Like I said, I don't know a whole lot. Thanks!

none, stick with the OEM

You'll never have to buy another after buying a K/N. You can wash those and reuse. Plus *this is only >>MY<< opinion* it makes the bike run a lil better.

When I went to get a new air filter for my bike at my local Honda shop when the kid asked what kind I wanted, the mechanic guy next to him said "Just get him an OEM filter there's no sense letting him waste his money on something else". So I got an OEM filter based off that haha. If you had a full exhaust and planned on re-tuning the bike then the better air flow may make a slim difference but the re-useability factor is probably worth it to most people.

I have the K&N sitting in a box. It doesn't incorperate any flaps for air control at all while the stock does and I care about low speed engine performance. You won't gain any HP with the K&N on a dyno either. Its only advantage is it can be cleaned/re-used.
