Just got the bike custom mapped....

I bought my bike a few months ago and it was fitted with a complete akropovic, K&N air filter and a Power commander III with a downloaded map.
It was running good but i heard several times that a custom map will help alot and many say that if you spend the money on a PC without doing a custom map then you should rather spend the money on something else... So with that in mind i decided to give it a go. He mapped it for 10%, 20% ect all the way to 100% for each 250 RPM's and it took about 3 hours and cost around 520$ :icon_teeth: Overall it did not do very much. It added less than 1 HP but it runs sooo much smoother now and it gained alot at the lower RPM's. Im really happy with the outcome and even though there is not much of a different to see on the dyno print it feels like a completely different bike. |
$520 you must be joking. Did he atleast use any lube?
|
hehe, I've contacted several shops and they were were demanding more or less the same amount.
Considering the bike cost me around 12500$ to purchase (which is actually a bargain here) i don't think its alot. Thats how it is to live in Denmark :icon_nic: |
wow, dyno tune around here is 150, for a 2, 5, 10, 20, 30 etc... the 2-5-10 is the crucial dd area anyways, because it is where you are when u cruise lol. but your results are about the same as mine were, smoother. no real gain at all in power but the smoothness = more power as the rpms climb. less low spots, and a healthier engine. of course, i've read if you tune it a bit leaner you get more power but risk of detonation increases.

Jesus christ everything cost WAY too much money over there! At least your happy with the outcome :)
|
Wow

12,500 Danish = 2,400 USD. Not everything is in USD, kids. :)
Dyno tuning really does a lot for the overall performance, even if it doesn't pick up a ton of horsepower. Happy riding! |
Did actually pay 65000 Danish kroner which equals around 12500 dollars :icon_shrug:
Sometimes i wish i lived in the US in the areas where the weather is allways good and i could ride a new cbr1000rr for the same price as my old f4i cost |
Oh I see. Bummer! At least it sounds like you're happy. :)
