looks sweet man. Much better looking shorter. Anyone know if you can do this with the carbon fiber can?
yup, my buddy cut his CF 2bros. bown yesterday, i used a chop saw, he used a sawsall with a blade made for cutting CF. his turned out just fine

How does it sound?
its a little, but the tone changed more than i thought it would, sounds meaner i think. its eventually gonna get cut down to about 7" total, then hidden under the rearset (gsxr600 2bros. style) im gonna post a youtube vid pretty soon. ill just post the link when i do.

did you have to do any tuning after you cut? I have an 02 and playin around one day i ran it on str8 pipe just slippin of the muff, and there was dramatic performance reduction. I have the exact same pipe as you. I love the way it looks on the bike, but just a bit low on funds. btw i don't have a PC on it yet.
I'd retune it, IMO. But question, do you need a PC when you get the K&N air filter? Doesn't seem like you would, dealer pushes it though.
i havent re-tuned it yet but i plan on taking it to the dynojet certafied shop down the road to have a tech give me an acurate tune. thats gonna be after i remove all the silencers in the intake and cut the can down to about 6-7" then down under the rear set. ive got the dynojet o2 delete already thrown on there. heres the to the youtube vid for the sound, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjNe1hckz0k

pc has a tune on their website for just a K&N with stock exhaust. i dont really think that it would make that much of a difference to where you would really need the tune. but if you have the pc already with just the K&N then why not just do it. it only takes a couple minutes

I like.
