Issue with 2001 f4i

Hi
i'm new to the motorcycle scene and i'm looking to buy a f4i as my first bike. I found one, but there's a problem this is what the seller says:

"Someone came by and test drove it and the battery died.
Now when I put the key in there is nothing. If I start
working on this bike it will sit in my garage forever.
I believe the balance sensor just needs to be reset
but have no idea how to do it that why the price
has been lowered. I am already working on another
bike and if I take this one apart it will never leave my
garage."

Now i don't know much about bikes and i'm still learning, but does anyone know what the problem could be and if replacing/reseting the balance sensor is expensive or not.

a balance sensor? There is no such thing. Try to push start it. Even if the battery is dead it will still start

He may be talking bout the BAS. But that doesn't make sense. +1 on the bump start.

go look at the bike, try to jump start it with a car, if it starts then you know its just the battery.. it nothing happens then I personally would walk away. My first bike I bought I was so exited to buy, the guy sold it to me telling me "It just needs a new solenoid which costs about $50" I tailored it home and had a couple friends look at it.. the cylinder was fried, the guy lied to me and sold me a dud. I learned my lesson tho

def dont try to jump start it with a car...you are able to bypass the bas with a paperclip if needed...if you happen to have a bike battery laying around bring it with you and swap it out and see if it starts
