Yeah thats a crazy quote, I am 21 and mine is 66.00 a month for liability, because I figure if I crash my bike its going to be #1 totaled or #2 cheaper then my deductible would be so...

$9,000.00 per year

That is the most insane thing I have ever heard! are you sure thats correct?
I'm 32, married, kids, all my stuff is through nationwide, house, 2 other cars, and I still pay $520yr full coverage.
State Farm is the cheapest, but only if I switch everything else over. otherwise its just not enough savings to worry about.

I just barely got progressive to give me 450 a year for minimum liability. Full coverage would have been rediculous, and I don't need it. Definitely shop around, or go through a broker who can give you the best quote. I really don't know canada's rules, so it might be much more.

I hate to even do this but, I pay 48 dollars per year for liability on an 01 F4i! Sorry, but some of these rates are incredible. This is through Allstate and I had a few years experience, too. Shop around, you can find a better deal than that. I don't know if Geico is in your area but try them. Good luck!

9 g's Damn! man i am almost the exact smae situation as you. I am 19 and this is my first bike. I got a 600 and I have gotten 2 tickets in my day. I got liability through progressive for $300 a year. From everything i read on this forum they seem to be the cheapest. I recommend you check them out (not sure what they do in Canada). When i was looking Geico quoted me $800 for the same coverage. $9,000 is a lot a bull man! and like someone else said. There isnt anything wrong with starting on a 600, just take it slow man

Hey cbrfan, I too had 0 riding experience, and started on the F4i. I took the MSF course however, and took my time to learn. If you're anything like me, and are fully respectful of the bike, and realize **** will happen, you will probably do fine. It's hard to speak for everyone as to what a good first bike is. Just don't rush things. Also, welcome to the CBR world! lol
glad to have you
