I'm back!!! Help with the rear wheel damper/Cush Drive

Well, I'm back, after my first child born I was on Moon changing diaper, etc, etc.

Well im glad im back and i have an issue with one of my f4i's.

One day it started making a "clunk" noise that i thinked was the gearbox but two days ago i changed the rear tire and when i was removing the sprocket, i saw there were no damper rubber!!! How this could be possible?? Does they can wear out???

Thanks!!

Cheers from Mexico..

They do wear out and like anything made of rubber, they have a "shelf life". Fortunately its an easy repair.

There is supposed to be. Are they stuck on the carrier?

John Cu 04-03-2016 11:26 AM

No, thats the way i found it when i remove the carrier and thats why its so amazing to me.

I swaped the rear tires and wheels from each one of my bikes about a year and a half and im sure i put those rubbers...

You probably didn't put them in. It would be really hard for all of them to disappear without a trace

I know but im sure i putted in there.

Without the cush drive/rubber thingys, it will beat the transmission to death. Back in 93 Two Bros Racing CBR 900 had aftermarket rear wheel with no cush drive, after a few races the bike had no 6th gear.

There is no way for the rubber to be missing even if it comes apart in use. Somebody didn't put them in there plain and simple.

I dont know, im the last person who removed that rear wheel...
