Ignition switch failure
Hi
Out on a ride for some much needed escapism when my, up until now, trusty CBR600FS2 spluttered, died, came back, died, came back died etc.
After the embarrassment of being brought back home in the back of a truck, the problem, I think is the ignition switch.
No continuity between the red wire and the other two. Jumping the wires from the loom enables me to crank the engine, but it won't fire. On contacting the wires the usual start up noises aren't heard, I'm guessing these noises are to do with electronics and fuelling?
My bike has HISS fitted so changing the ignition switch is going to prove expensive, I am now coming to realise. Does anyone know what alternative options I have.
The bike is my commuter and has done 115k miles. Apart from a few minor inconveniences, it runs really well and I don't want to have to get rid of it due to an over priced and unnecessarily difficult replace procedure.
Any ideas? Thanks
