Ignition Resistor/Diode

So I've searched high and low and read different answers. After the dealership went through my bike for over 8 hours they figured out the diode or whatever inside the ignition switch is bad. Does anybody know the specs on this part so I can stop by radio shack tomorrow and buy one?

Thank you!

P.S. A link would be awesome too.

When i had to replace mine i think i used a 2.2 ohm diode from radio shack.

2.2 ohm would be a resistor. If it's a diode you're looking for I would think any common one would work. Like a 1N914 or a 1N4001. Although keep in mind I'm not exactly sure what its function is.

where did you wire in the resistor? I have a new ignition off eBay and it doesn't have a diode or resistor in it, so I'll have to solder one in.

Need to know what resistance and where to bridge it.

This might help somebody.

Step down 12v-9v

What the zener diode does is step down the voltage of the pink wire from 12v to 9v to ecu.

Part # NTE5007A
3.9v 1/2w 5% DO-35
this is the part number and the specs. If you use the 3.9v .5w 5% specs you can find other brands this one is NTE . Hope this helps others This is for USA bikes. The US Bikes have the pink wire to ecu.

ebay ignition does not have the diode.

Ebay ignition no diode. On this ignition the diode needs to be soldered in from the red wire to the green. Green wire from this ignition will match up to the pink wire in the connector.

I've heard positive results from a 5.1V Zener Diode and a 1k Ohm 1 watt 5% resistor.

Plug into the ecu would be to the left. Key on the right.

Ignition diode

I've ran into a lot of problems in my 2004 cbr 600rr. I lost my only key so i ordered a new lock cylinder and tank kit off amazon. the new connector wouldn't prime the fuel pump however. 4 screws on bottom and 12 on top and the lock cylinder pulls apart into the lock mechanism and the switch mechanism. I swapped the oem switch mechanism on to the new lock cylinder and it should work. saw this thread and went to comment because I still need to find a new diode to go in it because i broke it while removing
