If you had to choose

Bike is parked outside under a carport, both are only long enough for me to get it through the back wheel and around the car port pillar. Please dont reply with "neither" or "If they want it theyl take it"..I know this...but as of current these are my options. Thanks!

Edit:Crap link didnt work..so go here and one is under cable locks and is the 5036 Akita Cable lock and the other is under chain locks and is the 5019 mastiff chain lock. Im leaning towards the chain even though its only 10mm links...I feel like cables, no matter what the diameter can be snipped pretty easy...but again thats why Im asking ; )

dude, if they want it they will take it. lol
jk but for real, just about anything can be cut with the right tools, and if they see it and want it, the next day they go get the cutters and then that night they go get it
im not trying to be pessimistic but i dont think u should worry too much bout the cables just get some decent ones and then use them

I have a 1 inch thick cable with the barrel type key, tied to the porch. no carport. just sits next to my house under a DOWCO cover.

Guys at the hardware store say cables are harder to cut with their heavy duty cutters because the individual wires bend and wiggle around instead a giving a clean "snip". So i went with the steel braided cable.

Oh yea. well lit area and visable to LOTS of neighbors incase anyone F's with it.

use a cable and i would put an alarm on the bike or maybe a chihuahua lol whatever alerts you.

I decided to go with a disc lock, alot easier to cut a chain than it would be to cut this little thing off. I dont think most people could drag the bike.

Ok It sounds like cable it is...I thought it would be the other way around (that cable is easier to snip than chain links)...

xjoe-they dont drag the bike, 2 or more guys simply pick it up and place it in a van!

The idea behind anchoring your bike to something is to prevent this:

Your bike only weighs about 400 lbs. Total. Two guys can easily lift the front end
