ok. i got the wax unit taken off and noticed one of the hose openings to be stuffed with light bluish stuff. i did the test with the hot water on it and it didnt work, meaning the rod did not extend. i tried to take it apart to clean it but the screws were so tight i happened to strip them a bit, so i guess replacing the unit would fix the issue.

Are you going to try & run the bike without it and see if it fixed the idle issue. You may want to readjust the idle control screws to where they were before.

did you leave the wax unit in the boiling water for a minute or two? it will take a couple minutes to heat the wax... anyways, a faulty wax unit would explain the high idle, i'm sure that's it.

Maybe that blueish crap is the was leaking out... idk, never taken one of those apart. It being plugged would explain coolant not getting in there to heat the wax.

yes, im quite sure the wax unit is crappy, so I just got new throttle body assembly with it on it. well, it was taken off 2001 f4i, but it looks like it's been well taken care of. it looks far better than the one I had on. i might put everything together today so I'll keep you guys posted.
