idling problem

Hey guys. Well I tried adjusting my idle with the cord above the engine case and it wont idle down. Its screaming when its sitting and its obviously a problem. Any suggestions??

idle when cold goes up to 3k rpm.. Is it fully warmed up and still above ~1600rpm? If so try the adjuster and if its not doing anything it might have fallen out of place.

Do these bikes have a IACV?

I believe they do. And the adjust hasn't come loose because I can trace it back up the connection. I can turn it up but once it gets to a certain low, it wont go any lower, and it still remains too high. The only thing I notice is that the rpm's increase when the bike becomes hotter, and currently the fan isnt coming on. Could that be the problem? or d oyou think those two are associated.

Just a long shot...check your coolant level. It needs to see coolant in the wax unit to pull the idle down.

After I had dumped my bike, I noticed my bike was idling higher as well, and I figured it was because coolant spilled out. Once I put more back in there, the idling issue was resolved.

Alright, Ill try to fill it up a good ways tomorrow. I just recently exchanged the old fluid for some new coolant, so this might be a long shot, no doubt. But its worth trying the cheap stuff first. Ill let yall know.
