Default Idle temperature

what idle rpm does your bike sit at and what temp is that at?

1100 at 110'

after the rpms drop to the idle rpm is it safe to drive immadeately or should I wait a few for it to get even more warmed up?

I always let the bike sit and warmup to idle rpm before riding it or revving it at all, just asking because Im going to orlando soon( in miami atm ) and the temp. there can get a lot colder than it does over here

Usually once my bike idles down to 1400 rpm (which is normal idle for me) and the temp guage is actually reading something I'll head out. However I did discover that even when letting the bike warm up to 150 degrees during idle the oil was still relatively cool. I changed it after letting it just idle and it felt slightly warmer than the air outside and was still somewhat thick. So now I will ride a few miles before I really put the hammer down.

Ride off as soon as the idle settles down, but ride easy until the temp is up to normal. You need to let all of the drive train come up to normal operating temperature before you really get on it. Just letting the bike sit while the engine warms up, leaves everything else cold and vulnerable to wear or breakage.

I live in NY, and from everything I've seen 1400 rpms is perfectly normal for idle.

Manual calls for 1300rpm idle at temp. I wait until 102 degrees reading before going but then its very easy riding until up to full temp. Of course if its been sitting in the sun my gauge can read 102 degrees without turning the bike on
