And I went down

I was riding home from my brothers place, thank God I was only about 100 yards away, when the next thing i know I am running after my bike that is on the ground. Luckily I was only doing about 30 mph. The scary thing is for the life of me I can not remember what happened. One moment I was on the bike in a very light right hander and the next I am on my feet running after my bike. I was able to push the bike back to my brothers and spend the night there as I was pretty shaken up about it. Thanks to all my gear I am not too bad, a very sore left shoulder and some road rash on my both knees. Broke both mirrors , cracked the stator cover, broke my left turn signal, cracked the upper and left cowl and got some road rash on both sides of the rear cowl. Right now I want to get the stator cover, mirrors and turn signal fixed so I can at least ride it till the end of the season then in the winter put some new plastics on it. My girlfriend wants me to sell it like today but some bruises won't keep me off of it. I will try to post some pics so you can see the condition of everything.

Dang, well, glad your alright for the most part bud.

Always a sad task to begin the repair after a drop, sounds like most of the damage was cosmetic, cept the stator cover.
They have em pretty cheap, over at hondaeastsuperstore.com

Were you drinking? No offence or anything. It just reminded me of a time before I learned my lesson.. I was at a friends party drinking heavily and I took my dirt bike down the street and straight up just fell over. I didn't even hit anything, Just fell right over. I got up wondering how the hell it even happened.

Anyway, good luck getting her fixed.

Thanks for the link. I will check that out. Now I have to figure out if I want to go with a stock or custom paint. Oh the joys of fixing things.

DBEAU: no offence man but no I was not drinking which is good cause it probably would have ended worse if I had been.

Here's a link to some pics:

Judging by the pics and all of the damage on the left side, it sounds like the back tire might have washed out in the right-hander, then caught traction and you high-sided.

Not that I needed more incentive to wear my helmet, but looking at the damage to yours after this relatively low-speed lay down, I'll happily keep wearing mine.

Glad to hear you are ok!

time for a new helmet. I would suggest installing frame sliders (not pos no-cuts either) during your rebuild too! ;)

Good that you are alright.

I'm wondering how you managed to scratched the rear piece on both sides... and knock off the mirrors... Well, anyways. Here is stator cover I bought yesterday: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda...Q5fAccessories

I don't know about the quality yet, but I hope it's good. The price is good though.

Tell the ol' lady that it is your freedom and you need to keep the bike..

I hate not being able to remember exactly what happens in a drop. It's the most annoying and scary feeling to not be able to deconstruct what you did.
