hell if im got it to the point where somethings draggin id call it a good day and time for a 12 bar! wheeling is not something you can do once a month and expect to be comfortable and proficient at, you have to practice all the time, granted you have a safe spot to practice at.

i don't understand what's so hip about it?
There is nothing hip about it. All it really does is increase your chance of crashing.

if anyone just wants to watch a few tips, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmduaIjSDjc that video is pretty good, its from sportbike magazine, they show you how to progress. like they say remember dnot try to impress yourself or anyone else just learn a a comfortable pace. eventually you will want to learn to clutch them up in 2nd basicaly at about 5-6k if you have a 600 and pull in clutch, rev and drop, remember the first time you do this dont pin the throttle, just do it progressively, you may not even have the wheel come up the first time, but you will get the feeling down. but thats after you've gone through everything else. watch that vid its auctually pretty good.

I believe thats a misconception, a wheelie dosent increase your chances of crashing really if youve practiced and know what your doing, the rider who does it and chooses where to do it is increasing that risk if those places arent safe. if your down a straight road middle of the night no traffic and the roads lit how can you get any safer, i know people who are less safe on two wheels then i am on one, so i think it really all comes down to where you choose to pull your wheelies and how experienced you are when you do them.
