i'm starting to get a real uncomfortable feeling about all of this...
*** it. I'm moving to a new apartment in a couple of days. I'm just gonna put it back together and do this some other time. Don't have time for this bs.

That was actually pretty easy once i figured out i was using the wrong tool. In order to get off the bottom nut holding the FPR on, you have to have a pretty small socket wrench with no adapter. there's no clean way to do it unless you drain ALL the fuel out of your pipe and tank. I drained half of my fuel tank and said '**** it' and just swapped em out real quick. only lost about a cup of water (yes i'm using cooking terms) so it wasn't too bad. i noticed an immediate improvement after i cranked her up. the idle wasn't nearly as jumpy as before. I haven't fully assembled her because i'm swapping out the fan switch tomorrow. can't wait to ride her now...
EDIT:
my fuel pipe is still frozen. that nut is ****ed. i'll deal with that later...

Is that bolt on the Fuel Rail stripped? If its spinning but not coming loose you can remove the other 2 and then apply pressure pulling while twisting the bolt. It will back out. Since you got the FPR though, I wouldnt mess with it since its holding the fuel rail snug with the injectors keeping them sealed.

Any of the major tool companies has a set of "twist" sockets for removing just that type of rounded bolt. I have a set that goes from 8mm to 19mm. Got them off the Matco truck. I think the shallow 8 and maybe a wobbly and you should be able to get that bolt out.

I've had lots of luck using flare wrenches when I have stubborn hex heads like that. Furthermore, if it's metric, I'll go for the undersized standard equivalent, and vice versa if it's standard. Snug secure fit, and wraps around all 6 points, plus it applies pressure evenly compared to a box wrench.
