Default i dropped my bike, i need HELP!! (w/ pics)

HELP...i just got my bike in september, it only has a little over 2000 miles on it...and i dropped it, pretty hard.

i was riding down my driveway, its gravel and had wet leaves on it, i pressed the front brake, and my front wheel locked up...i immediately thought: "whats going on? my front wheels locking up. what do i do? remember wat they told u in MSF, release the front brake." by the time that last thought got to me, i was already on the ground, looking at my baby, thinking, "why hasnt it shut off yet?" again, by the time i thought that, the tilt sensor kicked in, and i heard the engine shut down. my next thought was "where's the mirror? it mustve folded under." it was just past dusk at the time, so kinda dark.

i then went inside and got my dad to gimme a hand to pick it up...we righted it, and saw the mirror and handlebar tip on the ground, and the turn signal hanging off the side of the bike.

im devistated, and would love any help you guys can offer.

things im thinking(tryin to look on the bright side): i can now put the mirror extendors i wanted on. i can put heavier handlebar tips to reduce the vibe. and, hopefully, i can get flushmounts on the front and hopefully they'll cover the hole in the fairing so i wont have to replace the whole front end.

let me know what u guys think, and if u can help at all with prices, parts, or and ideas

thanks sooo much in advance

your going to need a whole new upper front fairing because of the mounting foundation... where your supposed to mount 'any' kind of turn signal has been destroyed, some might say you could bondo it or smoe kind of patch work, but I think it would be hard without experience. sorry bro

That isn't too bad... I did worse damage on my kawa 500ex when i dropped it 10 minutes after buying it. I was in pretty much the same situation with some damaged plastic. I just used some epoxy and plexiglass strips to hold it together...worked good. You might be able to epoxy that blinker housing back on, or maybe do some artwork with fiberglass, but theres going to be a line where the break was. However, Id much rather live with a small line than buy a whole new front fairing. Thats just me though..

i would try plastic weld before anything...just read the label and follow directions, thats what i did with my rear cowl

your front cowl is going to be about $400 if you replace it, so its not gonna hurt to try plasticweld...and dont mix fiberglass with your plastic fairing, that will be a mess

since this is your first bike I am assuming, I would do the fiberglass trick. from inside the fairing put the piece
back in place, then use fiberglass strips and put it hold into place. Your side fairing is supposed to
have that bump, but not all those scratches[sm=smiley24.gif]. Ride it all next season, then, after you
drop it one or two more times, go ahead and buy a new side fairing and upper if need be.

seen a couple pieces of the blue fairings on ebay today....check em out

thanks, where can i get plastic weld? can i just go to any hardware store and get it? or is it something i need to find special? im assuming it works just as the name implies and "weld"s plastic together, probably through a chemical bond?
