HR Exhaust
Does anyone have any experience with this exhaust?

I like the way it looks and am considering it but would like to see if anyone else has any prior experience with it. Let me know. Thanks.

RE: HR Exhaust
Mine has been on for a while now with over 1000 miles on it. It is loud. Don't take anybody's opinion that doesn't own one.
There is an adjustable plate/disc at the end of the can that opens and closes the exhaust output for varying backpressure and noise level. While this feature is not exactly designed by a NASA engineer it does work to add and/or decrease backpressure and to change the powerhouse tone.
Im still glad I bought it cause I like loud, I have run mine wide open and right now its about 25% open. Quality of materials and construction is actually pretty good since it is a relatively thick piece of machined aluminum. Quality of fit and finish (exterior appeal to the eye) is about a "B" but overall I would have to say its solid and I have not had any problems out of mine.
Its also the shortest most minimal can out there which is exactly what I wanted.
Last, it is priced way high but like I said I am still glad I bought it.
Shawnyc (sp) of this forum recently bought one, maybe he will dropby

RE: HR Exhaust
I just bought the Level One Racing can, they have two sizes. I got the 10" one, it says its 103-106 Db from 20' away...I will report how I like it when its on the bike. As for the HR1 pipe, kinda cheap looking, steep price, but VERY COOL idea to be able to adjust the noise/backpressure.

398db, it sounds likerunning a jet engine in a racquetball court.
Seriously I would say its in the running for the loudest slip on assuming you have heard plenty of exhausts. Its as loud as a D&D but lower pitched.
I'd say 65% of riders would find it too loud. When I ride to school at 7am I idle all the way out of the neighborhood before I get on the throttle.
A friend said he could hear me on the rode for about a mileawayearly in the morning. Don't buy it unless you want a seriously loud pipe that CAN be toned down somewhat.
BTW, I have frequently been annoyed by sportbike exhaust when Im not expecting to hear one fly by. Why I like it on my own bike so much IDK.
I don't know what exhaust you have now but if its stock or a big full can you will lose a little low end torque with the riot pipe. Not a lot but it was enough for me to notice. The more you close the disc/slide on the riot the more back pressure you will have. All the way closed gives you about a 1 inch square hole which I have never run. Good luck
