How to take the front wheel off?
 

Pretty straightforward question. Who knows how to take the front wheel off? There's some rim work I'd rather do in the comfort of my living room, then the freezing garage.

lifte the front of the bike off the ground however u want to and then undo the bolt on the right side, loosen the 4 12mm(i think) bolts on the forks-2 on each side, slide the axle out and then slide the wheel right out. nothing too crazy, itll take you longer to get the bike off the ground than it will to get the wheel off

Perfect, thanks man. What about the calipers? Just unbolt them as if you were replacing the pads?

haha, my bad i knew i forgot soemthing, yeah, someone will tell me not to but i just unbolt them and let them hang for a second then thread a bolt in to hold them there once the wheel is off.

That's exactly what I'd do, I'd never let them hang. Sh*t, I'll ziptie 'em.

How bout the rear wheel? I just need to know what to unscrew to get the axle off. Because once the axle is out, the chain will just slide right away from the sprocket all easy like.

just the axle is all u take off, for the chain i always pul the front sprocket off and then that give me all the slack i need to get the chain off the rear sprocket

Once the axle is out though, I can move the tire and rim forward (in the swingarm) and that'll give me plenty of chain slack? I'm going out now, so I'm sure I'll be back if something doesn't work.

OK! I notice that there's two large "caps" that need to be removed from the rear axle. But they seem to be stuck? Both sides are different sizes, and I'd rather not mess anything up.

The front was a piece of cake.

they're not stuck! just break em! i'm kidding. one is a 26mm and one is a 22mm i think. one of them comes off, and one of them (the bigger one) is part of the axle.

Does nobody buy a f@cking shop manual??? wtf is hard about undoing a couple of bolts?

..... you don't need to remove either sprocket to get enough slack on the chain to remove the rear wheel. once rear axle is loosened push the rear wheel towards the front of the bike... it slides/adjusts.... then you should have enough slack to get the chain off the rear sprocket (unless you chain is way to tight/short).
