I have an 04 with just under 5K miles on it. I would ask for $4K and if I get an offer for $3500 cash, I would ask for $3600. It's better to take a small loss, but you also have to consider depreciation and what newer year bikes are going for.

Asking 4K and getting offered $3800 is actually a good offer to me. Better to lose only $200.00 now than to sit on a bike and get offered less later.

Anything within 10% of the asking price should be a winner unless bikes are selling like hot cakes where you are.

Just my opinion!

Yea on Craigslist. I'm in Virginia ( big military area). I literally had it up for 2hours and it was gone. Posted it for 4200 n got 3900. Wasn't expecting that much, was only looking for 3500ish after talking to a few people on here. But worked out for me. Turned around n bought a 09 phoenix for 6300 (couldn't pass that deal up!)

I bought my 2002 f4i stock in 2008 for $4600 with 16,000 miles from a dealer in mint condition.
Added a few things...and a few miles...
I sold it yesterday for $4100 with 24500 miles.

Buy a 2010 in the middle of winter and you'll save $2-3k

I'd sell mine for 67 pesos. But on a more serious note with the condition my bike is in right now probably list it for 2,700. I bought it for 3,700 but it needs new fairings and stator cover to be perfect and there's a dent in the gas tank. So I figure with 17k miles and a less than perfect body it's probably worth about 2,700 or a little less. After I put new fairings on it and fix the tank I'd ask like 3,400. I think that's reasonable.

Going to get a 2011 when they want to get them out of the way to move the 2012's in. Would a 2010 be cheaper than doing that? I don't think there would be any 2010's left.

Well I feel the same about not paying over 3800 for an F4i since you can buy much newer bike nowadays for 4k+. I just sold the F4i last night for 3800 and picked up an k6 gsxr 600 today for a deal I can't pass. I originally wanted to buy an 07+ 600rr but this deal was too good to let go. ;X

Please don't flame me for buying a gixxer. Definitely a great bike so far. Hopefully it'll be as solid as a Honda.

Dealers around here usually have a few stragglers. So unless you're really picky with colors or something, it's not uncommon to have a couple new bikes a couple model years old.

One of the dealers here was unloading 2009 600RRs brand new last summer for around $6,500. I think one even has a 2008 ZX-10r brand new for like $7,200 still. I don't know for sure, I haven't shopped around recently, but it can't hurt to look.
