How much is it worth?
 

Hey, I'm looking to sell my bike this month and not too sure on what to ask for it.

2004 Honda CBR600 F4i (black/yellow)- only 4,200 miles

Basically flawless, with only one small scratch near the tail (less than half an inch)

Never dropped, stunted, or abused. Garage queen.

All maintenance done, washed/waxed frequently, oil just change (always full synthetic)

Only modifications are SS Yoshimura TRS slipon, lowered, and CF tank protector

What do you guys think?

Great Condition IMO Kelley Blue Book it.... www.kbb.com that way you can get a feel for what it's worth and you can work with a price in that general area...guess it also depends what its worth to you and how strapped you are for $$$...One thing I read when I was looking to buy was the additions you have added to the bike are kind of worthless if the buyer doesnt really care about them...you could probably bump the price a little but in the end you are really choosing the outcome of the sale...hope this helps at least a little!!

Could get $5k on a great day. I wouldn't take less than $4500 for it myself, not with low miles and super minty.

Make sure to include the parts to put it back to stock height. The average person won't want it lowered (at least in my experience).

Yeah, go as stock as you can. That's what I've learned the hard way.

Check the completed listings on e-bay. The market is pretty soft right now. Not a lot of F4i's on the listings, but you can find completed sales on 2004s between $3800 and $5200, including RRs.

$4500 is not an unreasonable asking price, but you may have to wiggle down to $4200.

those prices sound about right depending on where he lives and who buys the bike.... ebay and craigslist are your friend when trying to buy a bike or tryin to figure out a price for a certain market

I wouldnt let it go for less then 5,000 but if you need the money you need the money.

He didn't say where he's located, so you could adjust for local prices. My 4200-4800 range reflects South Florida values - around here every idiot wants a Gixxer with 'race pipes' and an extended swingarm. So the F4i is undervalued. I picked up my pristine 2005 for $3800 last year.

If you are not in a great rush to sell or in a hurry for money I'd recommend you test the waters at Craigslist.com for a couple months, with no asking price mentioned, just "Make me an Offer" posted, when you start to get offers you can see what people in your home town are willing to pay for the motorbike. Compare that to the actual KBB value and then figure your actual asking price from that.
After you have a set price that you feel comfortable and satisfied with, a good rule of thumb is to add $100-$200 bones to that (for the haggling and whatnot..)and begin the selling. Post you motorbike in your local paper, craigslist, here in my town we have a sellitquick site so maybe yours has something similar and wait for the offers.
It took me less than 2 1/2 months to sell an 01' Silver/Black F4i with under 10K for $4,200, my asking price was $4,500.
