this comes up at least once a week lately. do a quick search. tank is 4.9g, reserve comes on at about .9g left (all bars flashing). which should be about 30miles.
a full tank from top off to dry as a bone is 160-180miles, depending on how bad your wringing its neck.
my bars come on at 120miles pretty consistant

Hmmm,, check this out,, been running high grade gas,, got roughly 125 miles out of tank,, then ran mid grade,, its at 139 miles right now and still 3 reserve markers left. I drive the same path, same speed, everyday,,, I also think the climate in your area effects it to,,, if your in a smoggy type of place I'm sure
your bike gets worst gas mileage the clean air,,, So,, there ya go!

that would be correct, almost if all your bars are flashing, you have just under a gallon left.
thus it adds up, if you add 3.6g, to your almost gallon, you have about 4.6g give or take a little.

Hmm nice to know that having all the reserve lights flashign mean 1 gallon left, now I don't have to freak out when that happens.

lower octane gas actrually burns slower than the higher grade stuff which is why you get better gas milleage than with higher octane.
