The only way to keep your helmet safe is to carry it with you or lock it in a top box, it could mean the difference between walking away and laying in hospital with brain damage. Why leave that responsibility in the hands of the general public who are for the most part a bunch of retards.
Why would you mess with someone's helmet and not just push their bike over? (Just thinking this one through here)

My insurance, even with basic coverage, includes 3k dollars worth of accessory coverage. So if someone DOES screw with my helmet, I just show them a picture and a receipt and I have a brand new helmet.

and if you have an 04-06 model with the nanner seat, you can do this mod to your bike and have a passenger helmet with you and its locked while your riding

But you still have to ride home with a **** soaked helmet or no helmet at all.

Leaving your lid unattended is pretty stupid IMO, do what you want though I couldn't care less what happens to your head.

No fun putting a hot helmet on when it's warm, I just carry it.
For EXTREMELY short trips away from my F4i, I'll strap it under the banana seat (subframe hook) but I pretty much always carry my helmet with me.

Most helmets come with a carrying bag anyways? So why not just throw it in there and sling it over your shoulder?
