Default How hot is too hot?

I recently rebuilt my bike after a wreck. since then it seems to he running hotter then before (although it may just be the outside heat.) When on the freeway, it rides at about 180-185 degrees, and when in town, it's 185-220. Sometimes if I'm at a red light for to long it will reach 230. Is this too hot? If not, then what is, and what could be causing this? Any help would be appreciated.

Mine normally runs up to 225 in stop and go traffic. Interstate riding it's normally around 190.

Hottest I've ridden in so far was about 80 degrees. I was running 180 at highway speeds and in stop and go traffic I hit 225 and the fan kicked on. That bumped it down to about 215 at 30mph but until I got up to 55 mph again it was at least 200. My bike prolly could use a coolant flush and renewal though.

Your temps are normal. As long as everything is working properly the bike won't reach over 235. Prolonged periods of 200+ shouldn't hurt anything.

water wetter and distilled water in mine, never sees over 185 when moving. fan is wired to a switch, i dont care what honda designed, 230° is WAY too hot between my legs. mine doesnt usually get into the 200s unless its super hot out.

I believe the manual said that once the engine temp reaches 251* a warning light will turn on and you should shut the bike off. Mine usually will get to 225 sitting in traffic and the fan is usually able to cool it back down to around 221. The other day it was 97* (with a 103 heat index) and I was sitting dead stopped on the highway in traffic. The bike slowly peaked to 238 by the time I finally made it to my exit.
