How fast can you go?

RE: How fast can you go?
I have an 03 F4i. At the time, it was stock. I had her up to 167 MPH. For the record, this is very stupid... but a helluva rush! Don't try this at home. I only do that when there is no traffic on the freeway! This removes that other-person human error factor. Then you just have to worry about your human error, and mechanical failure, and a deer jumping out in the road. I'd love to have my front tire blow out at 167MPH, just to see what it is like! HA!

RE: How fast can you go?
In a perfect world, the fastest an F4i can go with all stock gearing and all is 172 mph. However probably the only place you'll see that is on a dyno or a downhill. Rider weight and wind resistance kinda take over by then and she just runs out of breath.
Mine tops out at 162, but after about 145 or so it takes a lil while for it to get all the way up there, LOL

Yeah I shut it down at an indicated 140, it seems like it would take another 1/2 mile to get to 150 and the fear of cops made me stop. There is no difference in the sense of speed once you get up that high anyway. The bike doesnt have the power to hit redline in 6th gear, Liter bikes cant even do that. I think it will do true mid-150s with a tiny rider and no wind (upper 160's indicated on the speedo).

I had mine doing 123 then backed off. It got there really quick, but I'm not sure how fast I could get it going. The guy that I ride with has an 01 F4i and he hit 145 with it and he said it was enough, he couldn't get in a full tuck because he has a red chrome windscreen and you can't see through it.

RE: How fast can you go?
check out the new sportrider, in the back is an equation to figure out the topspeed w/ rpm redline, tire circumfrence, primary reduction, 6th gear ratio.
dont trust your speedo over 100, most bikes are generally 10% optimistic in the speedo. grab a gps unit that will calculate current and max speed. garmin makes em for a couple of bills.
