How to buff out scratch on alternator cover?
Hey everyone. I got a nasty scratch on my alternator cover.
I'd rather not pay over $100 to get a replacement cover. It doesn't have to look perfect, I just want to make it less noticeable using some elbow grease. Anyone have any suggestions on how I could buff out the scratch a bit? Would coarse-grained sandpaper do the trick? Thanks, Dan |

|
true. I hear ya. but, don't worry about my riding some guy #2. I've been riding as much as I can.
I just always like to keep my possessions in good condition ... can't hate on someone for that. |
Here ya go bud,
check it out, a perfectly new OEM cover for cheap. http://www.hondaeastsuperstore.com/S...-p5094492.html $53.00 bucks! Get em while they're hot! lol |
Nice! Thanks man!
I think I can handle $53. lol |
No prob, glad to help.
Don't forget the gasket! |
so, the original gasket will be ruined on the removal of the cover?
I'm sure you can tell I'm a newbie. lol. I'm trying to learn as much as I can, and as quickly as I can though. This forum is great source of help, and my Clymer manual should be here today! |
You are completely correct Bud, best way to learn is to ask questions!
I'd highly recommend you use a new gasket reason being that the old one might be damaged or will possibly leak when you replace your stator cover. |
