so...i guess we can assume that 90% of the people who have bigger strips than you have better body positioning than you.

Sometimes I like to measure my arms instead of my chicken strips, 17". I never crashed my arms.

Well see thats what I am wondering. Like I said I DONT go all out but I know my bike gets low. Even with my toes on the pegs sometimes my feet catch the ground. now im not going very fast so its more surprising then anything. it will just be a really long sweeping turn. Any advice?

Its hard to really rate someone by their strips. I lean as low as scraping my pegs. And I have seen some who get as low as me and their tires don't show much at all. To me, the chicken strips don't mean much at all, its whether or not you can ride and have control. And not too mention that different tires wear at different rates.

as stated earlier, the size of the unused tire tread isnt a sign of a bad rider who doesnt lean the bike, well in some cases of streetbike squids it is....anyway... i lean off the bike with half of my butt off the seat with my knee out, looking almost through the mirror, using my thighs as holders and my hand that is in the turn as the control hand. i lean like a monkey off my bike, and am getting close to dragging my knee, but ive not been to a track day yet and im not gonna risk the rear end sliding out on me, already happened once, wasnt fun. back to topic...my strips are about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch, but it also is good to have the bike in the utmost possible straight position when leaning into a turn....anyone maybe wanna sum this up and make sense of it? sorry if it is confusing for you

yea your feet definitely should not drag if you're on the ***** of your feet.
as far as body positioning, check out keith code's twist of the wrist I and II.

it has great info about positioning, etc. but is so dry to read.
