How Bad Is It
 

Ok heres the situation. I have a 02 F4i that hasnt has the best of life (not due to me but previous riders) anyways to save you guys from a long story I finally got the bike back from a friend who had been "renting" it from me and he had put a cage on it, no big deal I didnt mind it. Well today I was at Iron Pony and they had marked down frame sliders for $9.99 so I picked them up and came home to put them on. I took the cage off and luckily the holes drilled for it are right were the sliders go how convienent. So I went to put the left one on first and the bolt went in smoothly didnt have to put really any force on it except to snug it down at the end then I find out the sider still has a half inch of movement so I go to take the bolt back out to try the other one and it like wouldnt budge. I had to use my 1/2 ratchet and a lot of force to get it coming back out and then the bolt just snapped... so now what do I do?

Drill it out (straight) and re-tap the threads, it's probably so embedded in there that no easy-out in the world will extract it. Sounds like either the bolt you got with your sliders was too long and bottomed out in the hole or the threads were se F'd up at the end it just got stuck. Find out what size and pitch those threads are and use the appropriate sized drill bit to drill it out.

By the way, you're pretty nice to not be mad about your buddy drilling holes in your bike. Not to mention the anal abuse he was giving it, why he put a cage on it!

These are two different great tools to pull out busted or stripped bolts.

Its funny you mentioned those I work for sears (now in the auto center) but I worked in tools for 2 years and I do own both those sets but they wont work here. When I was trying to take the bolt out I was having a hard time using a 1/2" ratchet and breaker bar that little extractor wont do a thing and theres no bolt sticking out for the 2nd to grab onto thanks for the idea though I'm going to have to drill it out. Just out of curiosity what normally goes in that hole anyways?

There is a stock bolt that goes into it. Nothing more just a bolt. I just pulled mine out of my 1000RR tonight and put frame sliders on my RR. I would recomend getting some frame sliders put in where you had the old ones. They saved my side fairings when I wrecked my bike a few weeks ago.
