Default How To Avoid Your Bike From Being Stolen

Hey, since I am new to the whole motorcycle thing, how do you guys keep your bike from being stolen? Do you use a lock of some sort (besides locking the handlebars), alarm?

Keep it in my garage.

When I park it somewhere I usually don't leave it for more than 30 minutes. If I do, then I will either make sure I can see it from where I am at, or I will go out and check on it.

Motorcycle theft isn't high where I live. When I do some touring next year I will probably carry a chain and lock. Disk locks are great, but they don't stop someone from picking the bike up and loading it into a van (most commong theft method). A chain through the frame or subframe will prevent them from carrying it off without some fuss. I may also put a Scorpio Alarm on it. I figure the chain will slow them down, and the alarm will alert me. My sidearm will prevent their escape.

Hmmm well first I pour 2 gallons of muratic acid all over my bike so that if someone touches it they burn bad. Second, you know those cool chains that peopl have attached to their wallets and belts or wherever it is they chain it to themselves? Yea well I have a REALLY long one that goes out to my bike while I'm in class. I just hope someone doesn't load it into a van and take off at 70mph! I'll be screwed!!!! Oh yea and for an extra super safety measure I slash my tires and beat my bike with a bat that way no one can ride it away and when they look at it they'll be like WTF mate?! and will not want to steal it anyway. =)

No but seriously I have insurance and I hope someone steals my bike because I want a blue '07 rr. =D =D =D =D
