Hotbodies Undertail Advice - ASAP!

Hi,

I've recently ordered a hotbodies undertail for my CBR 600 F4i (2002). However, I'm also installing a demon eye/HID kit and need to add all the boxes and wiring for that at the back of the bike.

Before I get at it with a dremmel, does anyone know if the new undertail will add space or cause less space?

Also, is there any video or detailed pictures at all of people making the cut and installing the hotbodies undertail as the instructions it came with are vague.

Thanks,
Antony.

Seems if I do install it the LED's are poor quality. If I purchased the Libertek ones, it it just a case of getting the Hotbodies LED clusters out with a screwdriver?

It will cause less space. Everything doesn't really mount up flush like the lock it kinda stays in at an angle. Honestly I wouldn't have installed it if I didn't get it with the bike. I should have just sold the thing. The LEDs are most definitely poor quality because mine have burnt out over 6 months.

It wont take too much space.. you only have to cut some off the rear... you can find room in the front part.. but why wouldnt you put the ballasts and boxes in the nose?

Thanks for the responses. I tried putting all the boxes in the nose but there are 7 boxes in total not including the wiring and it just wouldn't go back on. I'm now running wires alongside the frame and putting the ballast in the trunk or under the seat.

As for the Hotbodies, that was one too many bad reviews regarding the LED lights. I've decided to just order a Clear Alternatives LED stock tail light replacement, and will order the pimp bikes undertail although it'll take a month to arrive. I think I like that look better - https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-v...0/IMG_3122.JPG.

I tried installing it in the nose but with 7 boxes and all the wiring I couldn't for the life of me get it back on the bike. Think it'll be neater to have all the boxes in the back and run the wires alongside the frame.

As for the hotbodies, I was close to making the cut today but after reading the comment above it's just one too many bad reviews. I can change the LED's but really it's throwing money at something which should have been good from the start.

Instead I've ordered a Clear Alternatives integrated tail light, which I'll use in the meantime while I wait the quoted month for a Pimpbike undertail. I think that looks better anyway.
