wow...I picked this site cause there was less thread jacking and less idiots that run off the mouth...i would love to see the day where people help one another by sharing their knowledge of motorcycles. I am 32 years old and maybe...just maybe will live to see the day!! Sorry for thread jacking myself on this one...

Now on the subject. Their maybe something obstructing the 2 hooks in the front of the rear seat...this will in turn stop the seat from sitting flat and also stop the lock from latching properly. I had the same issue a while back and it was my tool bag. I also had issues with my lock and in my case it was the cable. I hope you get your problem fixed and hope people have the good sense agree to disagree...good luck...

No its not the seat, it's because the lock is sliding in the undertail, so when the lock loosens and slides down in the hole and it pulls the cable and makes the lock come loose. So I think I'll take a piece of plastic and cut it to the size of the lock and slip it over the lock and epoxy it to the undertail...Should work

cool...that is good to hear. I used epoxy to to hold mine as well. I had a kind of a backer plate on the lock and used that as a point of contact. I hope you get it right....take care and ride safe
