Honda CBR600 F4i Camshaft Freeze Plugs?
 

I intend on getting my camshafts put on a Cam Doctor-like machine that a friend of mine owns. However, the way he mounts camshafts require that the camshaft ends are open for him to insert his centering guides. The camshafts, as you might know, don't have holes on the ends. He asked me if these camshafts had freeze plugs on the ends and I wasn't sure and I don't want him to attempt to get the supposed plugs out from the ends and it taking a long time because I would like these cams measured within the week.

So my question is, do these camshafts have freeze plugs on the ends, or is the camshaft simply hollow? If there are freeze plugs, where can I buy some? I can't find it anywhere on the Internet, which convinces me that they aren't plugs.

All of my CBR camshafts in the garage have plugs. They're from 954s and 1000rrs, but they look to be of a similar construction to F4i cams. If they weren't plugged, I don't know how they'd supply oil to the buckets or cam guides...

It made me curious, so I looked on bikebandit and could not find a part# nor anything saying they came apart...

But I can clearly see plugs on the end of mine... Maybe you could find some st a local autoparts store that'd fit... Then again, maybe not, and if that were the case, the cam would be useless

Freeze plugs? No. There is no coolant inside the camshafts so there are no freeze plugs. Some other type of plug perhaps, but not a coolant containing plug.
