holyhelp 04 f4i

aloha i am working with an 04 f4i engine and its actually in a golfcart. i am having some electrical issues, i know about the diode in the ignition and i am not using the cbr ignition. so i need to find out exactly were the diode should be installed as in wich wire goes on one side of diode and wich wire goes on the other. i currently am not getting any spark or fuelpump priming and yes i have jumped the pump it works. i am alittle confused as to the diode 9v,7.3v,2v it seems theres a different answer for every thread you read on this subject. so please help a confused soul out that just wants to have some fun thanks alot

the diode needs to be inline with the ignition wire that goes to the ecu. Soo since you are not using the cbr ignition im assuming you cant just go and look for the pink wire. Id look at the manual and see if you can find out where this wire goes to on the ecu and go from there. And the diode needs to drop the voltage from 12 to 9. Anything more than a 9v signal and it wont prime the fuel pump and you wont be able to start it. If that makes sense.

Just a thought but what about the ground for the bank angle sensor?? I know it can keep the pump from priming

the pump also wont prime without the headlight harness/headlights being connected so just another thing to keep in mind. Make sure all these things that prevent the pump from priming are taken care of and you should be good.
