High idle RPM

Hey guys!

I'm seeking for your knowledge and experience here. My buddy and I recently performed valve clearance check and spark plugs swap. This was quite "fun". Had to get through the tank, throttle body and valve cover.

This took us for some time to finish and the time was really late when we were putting everything together. The first thing I noticed after going first a couple of yards is that my idle is at 3k RPM at all times and keeps fluctuating. The next day I adjusted this by the idle knob (thank god we noticed it hanging in the inside of everything and were smart enough to wire it outside). Now I have my 1.3k idle speed.

The only funky thing, and the one I don't like the most, is the warm up idle, which now always goes up to 3.5k.

What could cause this in your opinion? Wrong pressure on CCT chain? Timing? Or maybe throttle body problem? It's difficult to explain, but I think I also feel some additional vibration at low RPM and noises. This might have been always there though... What's your guys opinion?

Hmmm, my bike used to stay at 2.5k before... I'm prolly overthinking everything again in pursue of perfection.

Thanks for the replies guys!

3k idle is quite normal, and as soon as you see the numbers on your temp. guage the rpms will come down to almost idle around 130*

3k is nomal like he said. and now that you played with everything, if you didnt unhook your battery, your computer is releaning everything. if you're not hearing whining like a turbo your chain aint to tight. as far as the extra 500 rpms durring warm up see if its still there at the end of the week.
