HIDs vs ebay Lightblubs.
 

After finally cleaning my headlights I decided its time for an upgrade to help visibility. My primary goal for this change is to help vision, especially at night.

So what would you guys recommend between an hid kit and some typical ebay h7 xenon white lights?

I've never had a chance to experience either as my car just uses regular h7 as well.

Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

do the hid kit.... the bulbs look cool but will actually take some visibility away and done shine as bright.....

^Fail...BAN! ;) Go with the HID's though. Better quality (depends on where you buy of course) and will be much brighter, and actually help, versus just increasing crash potential.

Low beam 35 watt 6000K HID compared with High beam (brutally expensive "super white" xenon filled regular quartz 55 watt H7 bulb)

As you can see, the HID makes the expensive xenon bulb look like dull yellow crap, and the difference while riding is well, just beyond awesome.

This was a kit for CBR1000RR, which uses same headlights as my CBR125R

My Ebay 5000k (Hyperwhite with a slight blue tint) bulb works well beyond what the stock bulb did as far as visibility. After 5000k you start going beyond the visible light spectrum, but you get cooler looking blues and purples. Good looks, bad functionality.

Im sure its not even close the the blinding light of a real HID kit. But I got two 5000k Hyperwhite bulbs for $7!! :icon_hyper:

You get what you pay for.

Sheesh, you got a better deal than I did...

The yellow coloured bulb in my picture is actually the second of the two purchased. (only sold in pairs) The first one burned out in less than 2000 KM's.

This whole original purchase pissed me off because that's the *reason* I spent more bucks on the higher end Xenon Quartz replacement bulbs, versus the cheap as sh!t e-bay specials.:icon_no:

I wanted whiter, better light. The light wasn't whiter than OEM as claimed. It was brighter, but then it promply burned out.

No more of that for me! HID rules.

The wiring does not seem so bad for the hid. But my front fairing already looks a mess with wires, any tips on install or how to clean it up a bit?

I can't speak for anyone else, but the lure of $11.00 dollar bulbs soon lose their luster when they quickly burn out...

The wiring was utterly a breeze. Couldn't be easier. If I can easily mount and hide the stuff in my little 125 fairing, you should be laughing.:icon_wink:
