Default HID's melted wires??

So I had bought my f4I in july. It had the the purple 10k bulbs in it. Then one day they wouldn't work. So I figured they burned out. Went to the shop to get 6k and plugged em into wire harness. Nothn. Anybody have an idea why they don't work? Could I have a Wire grounding somewhere? I currently have a thick speaker wire straight from battery to hids, nd plug hot wire in for it to b legal to ride. But I have to b sure to unplug before it drains the battery. Haha.
Any help would b appreciated, thx

You amateur wiring is what probably burnt them out.
Have you checked your fuse?
If you have 35W HID's they will not effect your stock wiring, But bad wiring as what you have will effect the HID's.

Lol. I actually bought the bike with the 10k. They "burnt out" so I got new ones. They were 35w hids. Nd the fuse is cool. I tried it with the same # fuse nd replaced it but nothn. A honda shop should b able to figure it out right? Or am I lookn at a high amount of labor? Lol

Honda will most likely want to rewire your headlight system as the way your running them now will cause more problems then good down the road.
If I were you I would want that as well.

Follow along the headlight wires with a multimeter and see what point your problem is. Then you will know exactly where your problem is and might be able to fix it yourself.

Sounds like the wiring is a bit of a hack job.Speaker wiring to run your headlights?? Maybe you should ask around to see if anyone with some electrical knowledge could help you out. Headlight wiring is basic wiring so it sounds like you could use some help. Make sure all the connections are made proper. Soldered, taped, and die electric grease to keep moisture out.

I think what people are trying to say is an internet diagnosis will likely be impossible with creative wiring solutions. Shop will get that gleam in their eye when the thoughts on new harness and $$$ start sinking in.

HIDs shouldn't be melting anything.

You can plug an HID kit into the stock wiring harness. If you have anything OTHER than that, it's a hack job wiring and should be removed and done properly.
