Hiding HIDS ? A basic how to

4 Attachment(s)
I thought I would share the hiding place of my HID's electronics, and the fitting, well sort of, :icon_angel:

Tools needed / used
Philips Screwdiver,
Soldering iron
Black Tape
Black Silicone Sealer
Black Automotive Trim tape (Double sided foam tape)
Flat blade screwdriver
15 Amp fuse
HID kit with Slimline ballasts

Steps,
Remove the screen,

Remove the Air intake covers

Place trim tape on Slimline ballast

Push Slimline ballast up in to place at the side of the headlight unit, under the speedo -
Refer to the attached pictures

Pull the wires into place,
For the HT wires I put these so they pass just by the Aim adjustment screw.

For the 12v wires I put these following the bikes original wires. I also removed them from the rubber gromet.

Once in place remove the backing of the tape on the Slimline ballasts - gently using a flat screwdriver to prise it away enough to grab the backing.

Soldered connections behind intake to original 12v wiring.

Fix both Slimline ballasts with black silicone to stop them moving.

I changed the fuse from a 10 amp to 15 amp due to the startup current of the HID's being quite high when they are cold / new.

The pictures show the left side, but the right is identical , just on the other headlight unit.
