Help with throttle cable adjustment at the TB

Hi guys,
With help from this forum, I've successfully done my Valve Clearance adjustment. I've never done anything like that before. I feel like I've accomplished something big.
Now I need help with throttle. To put the throttle cable back, I had to unscrew and mess with the throttle cable on the TB side (where the two cables hook on to the circular spring thingy). In the process, I lost the configuration it was at before the service. I tried to get it as close to the old feel as possible, but I've noticed a BIG change in the ride.
The throttle now seems more responsive, meaning it pulls a harder with the same amount of twist compared to before. Also, there is noticeably less engine braking.
I've adjusted the cable at the handle to give it some slack.
I know that the top cable is the one actually opening up the flaps in the TB when you twist. The bottom cable pulls it back the other way (Closes the flaps.) How do I go adjusting these two? Is there a rule of thumb? Can I somehow decrease the twist to acceleration ratio? How much slack should the cables have at rest (no twist).
